Proven Leadership & a Strong Voice for the People

About Geraldine

Geraldine was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2010 where she currently represents District 23A and serves on the Appropriations Committee; Subcommittee on Health and Human Resources and the Oversight Committee on Personnel.  She is a strong advocate for Prince George’s County at the state level, a tireless supporter of laws to tighten our laws against drunk and drugged driving, a vigorous voice for women, children and the poor on many justice and funding issues, and a very strong proponent of justice reinvestment issues to ease the financial and emotional stresses on both families and the state.

Geraldine, a lifelong Prince George’s County resident, lives with her husband, P.J., and their three children. She attended Catholic University receiving her Bachelors in Nursing, worked in Pediatrics at the National Institutes of Health and eventually returned to Catholic to earn a Juris Doctor from the University’s Columbus School of Law. Combining her experience as a nurse and lawyer, she worked in the health law and legislative field in Baltimore and Annapolis garnering advocacy experience before the Maryland General Assembly and state regulatory authorities. While raising her family, she gained extensive experience with community and advocacy groups in Bowie and the County. In 2007, she was elected to the at-large seat on the Bowie City Council and re-elected in 2009. During that tenure, she served as the Council Liaison to the Education and Diversity Committee; the Prince George’s Municipal Association (PGCMA); the Metropolitan Council on Government (COG); and served as a co-chair of the Children’s National Medical Center Committee on Advocacy and Public Policy.
