Alert Prince George's (formerly known as Notify Me Prince George's) is Prince George's County's "Public" communications system that sends emergency alerts, notifications, and updates to your registered devices.  It is information sharing between County Government and interested participants who wish to receive critical, real-time information.  Alert Prince George's operates on an enhanced software platform that expands alert and notification capabilities. As a subscriber, you will be able to receive information regarding traffic conditions, government closures, public safety incidents and severe weather.  Users are provided with more way to receive accurate, timely and secure information before, during and after an emergency or disaster. Maryland Department of Human Resources Hotlines

The Constituent Services Office manages the Department of Human Resources’ Statewide Call Center. The Call Center provides a variety of information ranging from office locations and telephone numbers to explanations of program policies and procedures. CSO staff, through dedicated hotlines and a sophisticated telephone system, link people in need with the service(s) they seek. Maryland Single Family Housing Rehabilitation Program

Prince George's County Revitalization Tax Credit

Targeted Census Tracks, including most neighborhoods inside the Beltway, are eligible for a tax credit on certain construction improvements. For more information, call 301-583-4650 or visit the website.

 

Prince George's County Energy Conservation Tax Credit for Homeowners

A tax credit of up to $5,000 for homeowners who install solar or geothermal energy.

 

Storm Water Retrofit Rebate Program

For residents, businesses, and nonprofit organizations who install green storm water retrofits on private and public property. Establishes rebates for tree plantings, rain barrels, cisterns, rain gardens, permeable pavers, pavement removal and green roofs. Maryland Weatherization Assistance Program

Christmas in April Prince George's County

Healthy Families Prince George's is a voluntary program that provides support to first time mothers under the age of 25, and to the children's fathers. Services include prenatal support, intensive home visiting and mentoring services. This toll-free telephone information/referral program serves the needs of women, children, and families. Maryland Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP)

Breast and cervical cancer screening (including mammograms and Pap tests) and diagnosis for breast or cervical cancer for women 40 and over who meet certain criteria. BCCP also provides a monthly breast cancer support group. For information, call 301-856-4730.

 

Care for Kids Program – A partnership with Kaiser Permanente to provide medical services to uninsured residents who cannot afford private insurance. Residents must be under 19 years of age. The Prince George's County Department of Social Services Emergency Food Assistance Program acts as a clearinghouse for the distribution of donated food. Over 30 local community pantries and shelters currently participate in the program. The donated food is provided to eligible individuals and families free of charge. Maryland Department of Human Resources Food Supplement Program

SNAP Program

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), called the Food Supplement Program (FSP) in Maryland, formerly known as Food Stamps, helps low-income households buy the food they need for good health. Everyone has the right to apply for FSP.

 

Homeless Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Recovery Program

Homeless Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Recovery Program provides assistance for individuals and families. Dial 211.

 

The Bowie Interfaith Pantry

A community-based social services program providing emergency food and financial assistance to those in Bowie and Prince George's County, who are experiencing need- without regard to race, creed or gender.

The Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services (LARS)

LARS assists those who need and want to achieve long-term self-sufficiency through tailored services, including long-term case management, employment support, referrals to services, transitional housing program, and a permanent housing program. In addition, LARS works for its clients’ well-being through advocacy and education.
